  2. 2026March: FIU fined Bithumb 36.8B won and ordered a six-month suspension of new registrations over AML violations; a court later lifted the suspension.
  3. 2020Seoul police raid over suspected investment fraud.
  4. 2019Nearly $20M in EOS and XRP stolen in a hack blamed on insiders.
  5. 2018Raided over suspected tax evasion (~$28M back taxes paid); about $32M in crypto stolen in a June hack.
  6. 2017Customer data stolen from an employee's PC; affected users compensated.
