What is Bityuan?
Network history
Bityuan first launched in December 2013. Its original network used proof of work. A second version moved to proof of stake in May 2014. The project’s third-generation mainnet began operating in May 2018. That transition included a migration of BTY to the revised network. The Bityuan Foundation supports the project’s development.
Consensus and issuance
The later architecture uses an SPOS mechanism built around mining tickets. Participants commit BTY to obtain tickets for consensus participation. Selection among eligible tickets determines block production. Native BTY pays transaction fees within the chain. Block rewards compensate consensus participants and support development. The whitepaper records an initial quantity of 300 million BTY. That starting quantity is distinct from a permanent supply ceiling. Later block issuance follows the network’s reward rules. Bityuan’s design also accommodates parallel chains for application use. These chains operate within the broader infrastructure described by its technical documentation.
