What is Blockchain Capital?
Fund origins
Blockchain Capital was founded in 2013 by Bart and Brad Stephens. The firm launched its tokenized fund in April 2017. The initial offering raised ten million dollars. BCAP provides exposure to an evergreen venture investment vehicle. Its portfolio strategy includes company equity and digital assets in the blockchain sector.
Tokenized ownership
BCAP records an indirect economic interest in the fund. Professional managers select and manage the underlying investments. The token began on Ethereum. In December 2024, Blockchain Capital announced migration to ZKsync with support from Securitize, Circle and Matter Labs. The upgrade introduced a plan for distributions in USDC.
Returns and access
The fund previously reinvested investment proceeds after manager fees. Its first announced dividend was 0.25 USDC per token, scheduled for January 2025. Future distributions depend on fund decisions and available proceeds. The fund's terms describe BCAP tokens as non-redeemable. Access is structured for eligible investors, including accredited US investors and qualifying investors outside the United States.
