What is Gno.land?
Language and mainnet
Gno.land executes contracts written in Gno, a language based on Go. Its application model includes stateful realms and reusable pure packages. Developers can deploy packages, call realm functions and inspect their on-chain code through the project's tools. The current mainnet launched on September 12, 2026, with chain identifier gnoland-1. It began as a fresh chain rather than a hard fork of the retired betanet. Its initial balances come from the project's audited genesis allocation pipeline.
Native fees and distribution
GNOT pays for transaction execution and blockchain storage resources. Fees are denominated in micro-GNOT, with one million units per GNOT. The minimum gas price adjusts after each block in response to demand. Genesis allocations include airdrops to eligible Cosmos Hub and AtomOne holders, investor tranches and designated treasuries. Different allocations have distinct vesting and spending rules. Transfers began restricted by the network's constitution, with an explicit exemption list for eligible accounts. The mainnet has no token faucet. Genesis allocation figures and unlocked market supply therefore require separate treatment.
