What is MegaETH?
Network architecture
MegaETH uses the OP Stack with specialized execution and replication roles. A sequencer orders transactions and produces mini-blocks about every ten milliseconds. RPC nodes receive those execution results as a stream. Standard EVM blocks package the mini-blocks for settlement. Data availability uses EigenDA, while Ethereum anchors the settlement process.
MEGA distribution and economics
MEGA's published initial supply is ten billion tokens. The public token release took place on April 30, 2026 after an application-deployment milestone. More than half of supply is reserved for distributions tied to network performance indicators. Holders commit tokens to qualify for rewards when milestones are achieved. Commitment maturity affects their share of a distribution. The foundation initially defines and attests the performance indicators. Rewards received by the foundation from the USDm stablecoin are used to buy and accumulate MEGA. The token roadmap also includes access markets for low-latency infrastructure. MEGA-based sequencer staking and rotation remain planned functions. Current blockchain transaction fees are paid in ETH.
