What is Reflexer Ungovernance?
Overview
Reflexer operates an autonomous stablecoin system centered on RAI, which maintains stability independently of external price anchors. The protocol serves users seeking a decentralized, collateral-backed stablecoin that does not rely on traditional fiat pegs. FLX facilitates two primary functions: acting as a lender of last resort during system stress and enabling community decisions on removing governance controls from the protocol.
How it works
The protocol operates on Ethereum and uses a debt and surplus auction mechanism similar to established models in decentralized finance. When the system becomes undercapitalized, debt auctions automatically mint and sell new FLX tokens to recapitalize reserves. The architecture is designed to progressively reduce governance requirements, ultimately allowing the community to decide whether and how to govern remaining protocol components.
Peg and backing
RAI is not pegged to an external asset but instead stabilizes through the protocol's autonomous mechanisms. FLX serves as the equity and recapitalization layer, minted during debt auctions to cover system deficits. The token has no maximum supply cap, allowing for unlimited issuance when needed to maintain system solvency.
