What is Sapling?

Overview

Sapling operates as a launchpad platform on Solana designed to bridge traders with Zcash and its shielded privacy capabilities. Every token launched through the platform trades against ZEC on the Solana blockchain. The platform accumulates a portion of trading fees into an on-chain vault for each launched coin, held in ZEC denominations as that project's 'roots.'

How it works

Sapling uses Solana's Token-2022 standard for token deployment. Token holders can burn their coins to redeem their proportional share of the accumulated ZEC reserves associated with that project. This redemption mechanism is termed 'harvesting' and allows participants to extract value from platform trading activity.

Token and supply

SAPLING serves as the platform's native token. One-half of one percent of every trade executed on Sapling is used to purchase and burn SAPLING tokens. Maximum supply is fixed at 1 billion tokens, with approximately 805.8 million total supply.
