What is Stake DAO CRV?

Overview

sdCRV is a liquid locker mechanism created by Stake DAO that wraps CRV, Curve's governance token. Users can deposit CRV directly or purchase sdCRV on secondary markets to access yield optimization, liquidity, and voting rights simultaneously. The product solves the liquidity constraint of vote-locked governance tokens by allowing holders to exit positions, sell voting power through bribing, or maintain full participation in protocol decisions.

How it works

sdCRV operates as a liquid derivative of veCRV on Ethereum, representing a claim on staked CRV and associated rewards. Depositors receive maximum yield boosts while retaining governance voting rights and the ability to enhance their vote weight using veSDT. The underlying CRV can be recovered by converting sdCRV back through the sdCRV/CRV liquidity pool.

Token and supply

sdCRV has a total supply of approximately 23 million tokens with no documented maximum cap. The token functions as a receipt for deposited CRV and represents voting power in Curve governance. Holders can trade sdCRV on secondary markets or redeem it for the underlying CRV token.
