What is StormX?
Overview
StormX operates a decentralized marketplace where participants complete and post micro-tasks in exchange for STORM tokens, cryptocurrency, or other rewards. The platform addresses inefficiencies in existing gig marketplaces by eliminating intermediary fees and reducing transaction costs charged to users. Tasks are executed and validated through smart contracts, enabling direct payment between task creators and workers.
How it works
StormX is an ERC-20 token operating on the Ethereum blockchain. The platform functions as a gamified task network where smart contracts automatically enforce agreements and distribute payments in STORM tokens. Users can create, offer, and complete tasks without relying on traditional centralized platforms.
Token and supply
STORM is an ERC-20 token used to pay for task completion and compensation within the marketplace. The maximum and total supply is fixed at 12.5 billion tokens with no ongoing inflation or emission described.
Team and history
StormX was launched on November 6, 2017. Co-founders Simon Yu and Calvin Hsieh developed the project from an earlier app called BitMaker created in 2014, which evolved to include task-based earnings features.
