What is USDST?
Overview
USDST is a collateral-backed stablecoin designed to function as the primary medium of exchange within the STRATO ecosystem. Users employ it for network transactions, trading pairs, and decentralized finance operations. The token enables borrowers to unlock liquidity through collateralized debt positions without liquidating their underlying assets.
How it works
USDST is deployed on Ethereum and issued through a fully open-source, audited chain architecture. Users mint new USDST by opening Collateralized Debt Positions (CDPs) against accepted collateral. The protocol includes liquidation safeguards to maintain solvency and provides users with transparent risk management tools.
Peg and backing
USDST maintains its US Dollar peg through collateral backing. Accepted collateral includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, Liquid Staking Tokens, and tokenized physical assets such as gold and silver. Borrowers can mint USDST up to 80% loan-to-value with a stability fee of approximately 2% annually.
Supply
Total supply stands at approximately 25 thousand USDST with no maximum supply limit specified. New tokens are issued when users open CDPs and are removed from circulation when CDPs are closed and debt repaid.
