What is Switchboard?

Overview

Switchboard operates as a marketplace for AI inference requests. Users integrate through a single endpoint, after which the system classifies each request by computational difficulty and auctions it across competing providers. The protocol routes work to the most cost-effective provider meeting the task's requirements and returns a verifiable on-chain receipt documenting the transaction and savings achieved.

How it works

Requests are classified by difficulty level and subject to competitive auctions among inference providers. The auction mechanism selects providers based on both price and reliability metrics. Each completed inference generates an on-chain receipt documenting the outcome and cost efficiency.

Token and supply

SWCH settles all requests and operates as the exchange's native currency. The token has a maximum supply of 1 billion, with a total supply of approximately 999.8 million. SWCH powers the marketplace's economic layer and is used to compensate providers and compensate the protocol for facilitating transactions.
