What is UCHAIN?
Consensus and supply
The published coin supply is 100,000 UCN. UCHAIN uses Delegated Proof of Stake. Token holders select Super Representatives through voting. Twenty-seven representatives produce blocks. The documented election cycle runs every six hours. Its target block interval is approximately three seconds.
Network resources
Transactions consume bandwidth resources. Smart-contract execution also consumes energy. Accounts receive a daily free bandwidth allowance. Freezing UCN can provide additional bandwidth and energy resources for the account. UCN pays charges when available resources are insufficient.
Application infrastructure
The network supports Solidity contracts and URC-20 tokens. Node APIs expose transaction and account functions to applications. Protocol data uses Google's Protocol Buffers encoding. UExplorer provides block and transaction visibility. UCN's role is network payment and participation rather than equity in an application built on the chain.
