What is Origin Token?
Yield products and governance
Origin develops products including OETH, super OETH and OUSD. These products have their own underlying assets and redemption mechanisms. OGN is separate from their deposit receipts. Origin also operates Automated Redemption Manager vaults. Their purpose is to provide liquidity around yield-bearing assets. Users lock OGN to receive xOGN. Voting weight depends on the amount locked and the lock duration. xOGN gives participation in protocol governance. Staking rewards come from Origin's product fees. A longer commitment changes voting weight rather than creating a fixed promised yield.
Fee distribution
Origin directs protocol fee revenue to OGN buybacks. Purchased OGN is distributed to stakers. This model avoids relying on new token emissions for those rewards. Revenue changes with the activity of Origin's products. OGN holders therefore have governance and fee-related exposure rather than a claim to a stablecoin balance.
