What is Spell?
Borrowing system
Abracadabra issues Magic Internet Money against accepted crypto collateral. Its borrowing markets use smart contracts to manage collateral and debt. Certain markets accept interest-bearing tokens as collateral. Borrowers can obtain MIM while retaining exposure to the deposited position. Market-specific interest and liquidation rules apply. MIM targets the US dollar, while SPELL has a separate market price.
Supply and staking
The initial SPELL design reduced 420 billion tokens to 210 billion through a burn. That figure describes the original allocation framework rather than today's circulating balance. SPELL incentives support liquidity and other approved programmes. Staking SPELL through sSPELL earns additional SPELL from protocol revenue. The mSPELL route distributes revenue in MIM instead. Staking also gives voting power in the governance forum. The documentation applies a 24-hour withdrawal lock after staking. Revenue distribution and buybacks are governed by the protocol's approved arrangements. Native Ethereum SPELL and particular bridged versions have different contract and bridge dependencies.
