What is Acurast?
Compute infrastructure
Acurast connects application publishers with independent compute providers. Smartphones can operate as processors in the network. The architecture uses hardware security capabilities to protect execution. A blockchain coordinates assignments and payments. Compute contributions form part of the protocol's incentive design.
Native token
ACU pays for network activity and participates in staking. Acurast's mainnet operates as a Polkadot parachain. The native token uses twelve decimal places. An Ethereum representation uses eighteen decimal places. The Hyperdrive bridge links these token environments under the network's bridge system.
Issuance and rewards
The initial allocation totals one billion ACU. Current documentation specifies annual inflation of 5%. Staked compute receives 70% of inflationary rewards. The treasury receives 15%, benchmark incentives 10% and collators 5%. Governance can adjust the economic parameters. Canary-network cACU is a separate asset with its own migration process.
