What is OpenRoboto?
Robot learning
OpenRoboto runs on Bittensor mainnet as subnet 80. Participants fine-tune base models and submit complete checkpoints. A shared evaluation system compares challengers under controlled conditions. Successful improvements can replace the current base model. Its public tools include miner software and validator helpers. Reproducibility documentation accompanies the competition. Evaluation combines simulation with physical-robot tracks.
Current competitions
The simulation season moved to LingBot-VLA 2.0 in September 2026. The earlier simulation season used the pi-zero-point-five model. Physical tracks evaluate those two model families separately. Real-robot testing uses an xArm 6 and seven tasks. Complete trial videos are published. Rewarded models must remain public during their payout periods. Upheld challenges can burn unpaid rewards. SN80 connects this model-development competition to Bittensor's subnet incentives. Its alpha asset is obtained through subnet staking with TAO.
