What is Api3?
Data and oracle revenue
Data providers sign observations using their own certified keys. Applications obtain price information through Api3's supported feed interfaces. Api3 Market supplies feed plans across Ethereum-compatible networks. Oracle Extractable Value arises when oracle updates enable profitable transactions such as liquidations. Api3 auctions the right to execute these opportunities. Partner applications receive 80% of the associated OEV revenue.
DAO and staking
API3 holders stake tokens in the DAO pool to obtain voting power. They can vote directly or delegate voting power to another participant. The pool pays staking rewards in API3. These rewards involve new token issuance. Reward rates adjust according to the amount staked relative to the DAO's target. Unstaking requires a scheduled waiting period before withdrawal. Governance can change pool parameters through proposals. The token supply therefore evolves with the DAO's reward policy.
