What is apxUSD?
Apyx's two-token model
Apyx introduced its protocol in February 2026. apxUSD is the non-yield-bearing dollar asset used for payments, trading liquidity and collateral. Its backing includes preferred shares issued by digital asset treasury companies. The initial reserve strategy included Strategy's STRC and Strive's SATA alongside short-term Treasury assets. The protocol targets overcollateralization rather than a cash-only reserve model. The preferred shares and Treasury instruments are held through offchain custody arrangements. Reserve reporting includes third-party accounting attestations.
Minting, redemption and savings
The protocol's initial deployment operates on Ethereum. Whitelisted participants mint apxUSD by supplying approved assets such as USDC. Redemption burns apxUSD in exchange for corresponding approved assets. Other users can acquire the token through secondary liquidity pools. Holders can lock apxUSD in the savings vault to receive apyUSD. Dividends from the preferred-share portfolio fund the vault's accrual. That income increases apyUSD's redeemable value over time, while apxUSD remains the protocol's non-yield-bearing unit. Token supply follows collateral-backed minting and redemption rather than a fixed cap.
