What is apyUSD?
Vault structure
Apyx introduced its digital-credit products in February 2026. apyUSD uses the ERC-4626 tokenized-vault standard. Users deposit apxUSD and receive shares of the vault. The token balance does not increase through rebasing. Yield instead changes the amount of apxUSD represented by each share. Its supply expands with deposits and contracts when shares are redeemed. apyUSD therefore has a changing exchange rate rather than a permanent one-dollar redemption price.
Income and collateral
Income originates from dividends on the protocol's underlying collateral. Apyx's digital-credit reserves include publicly traded preferred securities from digital-asset treasury companies. Strategy and Strive preferred shares are named collateral examples. Dividends are collected offchain and converted into assets distributed to the vault. The protocol releases funded yield gradually through its vesting contracts. The resulting return varies with collateral income and distribution parameters. The backing depends on securities custody and the issuers' dividend obligations.
Redemption
Withdrawing burns vault shares and creates a pending claim for apxUSD. Users receive the underlying asset after the applicable unlocking process. The documentation describes flexible claims that become available after three days with a declining early-exit fee. Access to the Apyx frontend remains subject to jurisdiction restrictions even though the vault is described as permissionless.
