What is Avant USD?
Backing and transfers
Users mint avUSD by depositing USDC into Avant Protocol. The base token is designed around one-to-one USDC backing. avUSD itself does not distribute yield. It functions as a liquid receipt for capital committed to the protocol. Avalanche is its native network. Supported bridged deployments extend access to other chains. The application uses Chainlink CCIP and LayerZero for supported transfer routes.
Yield structure
Staking avUSD produces savUSD, the senior yield token. Its value in avUSD increases as the underlying strategies generate returns. The avUSDx junior position takes greater exposure to losses in exchange for a larger yield allocation. Avant's capital structure also includes a dedicated USD reserve fund. A portion of strategy fees and returns from unstaked capital supports this fund. Capital backing unstaked avUSD is deployed in underlying strategies rather than remaining entirely idle.
Exiting positions
A savUSD withdrawal has a published one-day cooldown. Users must return to the base avUSD position before requesting USDC redemption. Direct redemptions can take up to seven days depending on liquidity and conditions. The protocol also offers a secondary-market swap route where liquidity is available. Redemption fees and route details are displayed before submission. Issuance and redemption follow deposited capital rather than a predetermined mining schedule.
