What is Axis USD?
Backing and trading strategy
Axis combines tokenized and digital assets with actively managed trading positions. Its strategies include cross-venue arbitrage, funding trades and hedges. Operations combine onchain token accounting with offchain trading and custody. The protocol describes USDx as a synthetic dollar rather than a conventional stablecoin. Holding USDx alone does not earn the strategy's yield.
Issuance and redemptions
Approved counterparties mint USDx through signed orders that specify the supplied assets. Redemption burns USDx and returns assets under the order's terms. The market contract controls minting through assigned permissions. Primary-market issuance and redemption provide arbitrage routes around the intended dollar value. Access, execution limits and market liquidity affect those routes.
Yield vault and control
Users seeking yield deposit USDx into the separate sUSDx vault. That vault has its own accounting and asynchronous redemption process. A withdrawal can require a request, cooldown and subsequent claim. USDx contracts are upgradeable and include administrative controls. Token supply follows authorized issuance and burns rather than a fixed mining schedule.
