What is Brett?
Character and network
The project uses Brett's image as its community identity. Its branding is closely associated with Base's crypto culture. BRETT was issued as an ERC-20 token on Base. The underlying network handles transaction execution and settlement. Matt Furie created the comic character, while the token project is a separate initiative.
Issuance and use
The original issuance created ten billion BRETT on February 24, 2024. The published allocation assigned 85% to liquidity, 10% to treasury and 5% to exchange support and marketing. Trading and community participation are its principal documented activities. The token has no dedicated consensus mechanism. Additional uses depend on applications that choose to integrate BRETT.
