What is Bitcoin Cash II?
Overview
Bitcoin Cash II is a Layer 1 blockchain that forked from BC2 at block height 53 thousand, combining BC2's transaction history with Bitcoin Cash's protocol rules. The network supports 32MB blocks, Schnorr signatures, native introspection opcodes, and protocol upgrades through Upgrade 11 (ABLA). BCH2 implements replay protection via SIGHASH_FORKID and double-spend detection through DSProof for unconfirmed transactions.
How it works
Bitcoin Cash II uses SHA-256 proof-of-work consensus with the ASERT difficulty adjustment algorithm calibrated to maintain stable block times on a new network. The algorithm operates with a 1-hour half-life initially, automatically transitioning to a 2-day half-life at block 93 thousand through built-in consensus rules. The chain preserves BC2 transaction history while allowing witness-via-scriptSig mechanisms to spend existing SegWit UTXOs.
Token and supply
BCH2 is the native asset with a fixed maximum supply of 21 million coins. New coins are issued exclusively through mining rewards following Bitcoin's halving schedule, with an initial block reward of 50 BCH2. The network had no premine, developer allocation, or initial coin offering; all circulation stems from mining.
