What is KUB Coin?
Execution and consensus
KUB Chain supports smart contracts and decentralized applications. Transactions and contract calls require gas paid in KUB. Validators maintain the ledger and confirm blocks. The network originally used Proof of Authority. Its Erawan upgrade introduced Proof of Staked Authority. The subsequent Chaophraya upgrade established Proof of Stake. Validator selection draws on the KUB deposited in staking contracts.
Staking and supply
Solo validators operate their own nodes and stake KUB directly. Pool validators also accept KUB from delegators. Delegation provides participation without operating validator infrastructure. Rewards are distributed according to participation in the staking system. The Lausanne upgrade added changes to slashing, staking thresholds and partial unstaking. The current whitepaper states a total supply of 110 million KUB. KUB holders can receive gKUB for community voting.
