What is Blackhole?
Overview
Blackhole is a next-generation DEX on the Avalanche C-Chain designed to provide deep liquidity and sustainable token emissions through an enhanced ve(3,3) framework. The protocol enables users to lock native tokens into vote-escrow NFTs that grant governance rights and protocol revenue sharing. Liquidity providers earn rewards from trading fees, bribes, and emissions determined by governance votes on liquidity pool gauges.
How it works
The protocol operates on weekly epochs where veNFT holders vote on gauges to direct $BLACK token emissions to specific liquidity pools. Blackhole features variable AMMs for volatile assets, stable AMMs for correlated pairs, and concentrated liquidity pools for precision market-making. New projects can bootstrap liquidity through Genesis Pools, which offer fixed-price contributions and automatic LP staking with emissions starting in the following epoch.
Token and supply
$BLACK is used for emissions rewards to liquidity providers, locking into veNFTs for governance and revenue participation, and staking to access protocol fees and bribes. Two NFT types exist: Singularity veNFTs created by locking tokens for up to 4 years, and Supermassive veNFTs created by permanently burning tokens, which receive enhanced rewards and non-decaying voting power. Total supply is approximately 295.7 million tokens; maximum supply is uncapped.
