What is Cap?
Credit platform
Cap aggregates supported dollar-denominated deposits into cUSD. Its reserves can include payment stablecoins and tokenized money-market products. Institutional operators borrow those reserves through the protocol's credit engine. Borrowers must obtain financial guarantee coverage before accessing credit. Coverage providers escrow collateral against specific loans and receive premiums for underwriting them. The smart contracts can apply this collateral when a borrower defaults.
Dollar products
cUSD represents the dollar layer of the system. Staking cUSD creates stcUSD, which captures income generated by the credit engine. These deposit products are separate from CAP. Protocol modules handle minting, lending, liquidation, fees, collateral delegation and oracle pricing. Reserve-asset redemption depends on the supported assets and the vault's configured liquidity rules.
Token allocation
CAP launched in the second quarter of 2026 with a fixed supply of 10 billion tokens. Ecosystem and community allocation accounts for 47.37% of that supply. Governance rights are designed to phase in as the protocol matures. Cap's tokenomics provide for discretionary buybacks using generated revenue. Investor and team allocations begin unlocking after a one-year cliff, followed by monthly vesting over three years.
