What is Celer Network?
Message routing
Celer’s State Guardian Network is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain built on Tendermint. It routes messages between participating chains. cBridge and Celer’s Inter-chain Messaging framework both use this network. Applications submit messages through source-chain MessageBus contracts. Validators attest to those messages after reaching consensus. An executor relays the attestation to the destination chain. The destination contract verifies it before triggering application logic.
Security and CELR
CELR supplies the economic stake behind SGN validators. Holders can delegate to validators and share routing fees and rewards. Staked assets can be slashed when a validator malfunctions or acts maliciously. Unstaked CELR receives none of these staking rewards. Applications can add a delay buffer and an independent watchtower. That optional model allows questionable messages to be stopped before execution. CELR governance covers supported chains, fees and protocol modules. SGN upgrades also go through its governance process. The token consequently links network security with decisions about cross-chain infrastructure.
