What is lium?
GPU marketplace
Lium operates through Bittensor subnet 51. Providers register machines and make supported NVIDIA GPUs available to renters. The platform checks hardware specifications and node availability. Its infrastructure includes a provider portal for pricing, monitoring and payouts. Containerized execution runs customer workloads on the contributed hardware. Optional configurations support GPU partitioning and confidential workloads.
Two reward streams
Providers can receive rental income from paying customers. Lium processes those payments separately from Bittensor emissions. Rental proceeds are distributed to providers through the platform's alpha-token arrangements. The subnet also earns protocol emissions under Bittensor's consensus system. Validators assign reward weights using measured provider performance. The subnet allocation distinguishes rented machines, eligible idle machines and a burn component.
Subnet alpha
SN51 uses Bittensor's subnet-specific alpha infrastructure. Protocol rewards accrue as alpha stake on registered hotkeys. They do not necessarily appear as ordinary wallet transfers. The local alpha and TAO liquidity pool connects subnet staking with the wider Bittensor economy. Provider earnings depend on utilization, eligible hardware and validator scoring. Changes to subnet parameters can alter the distribution between its reward pools.
