What is Chainflip?
Swaps and security
Chainflip connects assets across separate blockchains. Its vault design allows native-asset transfers without issuing a wrapped version for each swap. Liquidity providers supply the assets used for execution. The protocol uses a just-in-time automated market maker. Validators maintain the state chain. They jointly control the chain vaults. FLIP is posted as collateral in validator auctions.
Emissions and fee burns
Validator operators earn FLIP emissions for securing the protocol. Ongoing emissions mean the original allocation is not a permanent supply cap. Team allocations also follow their release schedule. The fee model uses 0.1% of swap volume to buy and burn FLIP. Half of boost fees are also allocated to burning. Burns remove tokens while emissions add supply. The resulting supply change therefore depends on both mechanisms. FLIP's staking role is separate from providing swap liquidity.
