What is ConstitutionDAO?
The auction campaign
ConstitutionDAO organized a single-purpose crowdfunding effort. Participants contributed ETH through Juicebox. PEOPLE recorded participation in the campaign. The group bid at Sotheby's and lost the auction. The core team then wound down the original project.
Refund mechanism
Participants can claim their unclaimed PEOPLE tokens. They can also redeem claimed or unclaimed tokens through the original contract. The documented redemption ratio is one ETH for one million PEOPLE. Redemption burns the corresponding tokens. Ethereum transaction costs are paid separately.
Token rights
The original DAO describes its work as complete. PEOPLE's remaining official utility is redemption through the crowdfunding contract. The token does not carry continuing governance rights from ConstitutionDAO. Holders can retain or transfer it instead of requesting a refund. Future community projects are independent of the original group's mandate.
