What is DeepBook?
Trading infrastructure
DeepBook matches market and limit orders between buyers and sellers. Its contracts are written in Move and use Sui's execution infrastructure. Wallets, exchanges and other applications integrate the order book through public functions or an SDK. DeepBook supplies trading infrastructure rather than requiring one proprietary trading interface. Version 3 includes flash loans and balance-management tools.
DEEP fees, staking and supply
DEEP pays trading fees and supports pool creation. Current contracts also allow trading fees to be paid in the input token. Using and staking DEEP provides fee advantages under each pool's rules. Market makers can qualify for rebates based on their activity. Pool-level governance controls parameters including fees and staking requirements. The published maximum supply is ten billion DEEP. A quarter of that supply was initially circulating. Remaining allocations follow a multiyear release schedule. Staking benefits depend on trading volume and the pool's incentive design. DEEP is a Sui token, while SUI remains the network asset used for blockchain transaction costs.
