What is Divi?
Overview
Divi aims to reduce blockchain complexity while maintaining user self-custody and enabling competitive returns through network participation. The project provides a mobile-first wallet solution with features including human-readable addresses, non-custodial staking, and support for swaps across hundreds of assets. Intended use cases span retail payments, DeFi protocols, NFT liquidity provisioning, and Web3 gaming integration through the LightningWorks initiative.
How it works
Divi operates as a proof-of-stake network where participants run individual validator nodes to secure the blockchain and earn returns. The DiviWallet mobile application provides near-instant settlement with minimal transaction costs and enables one-click deployment of mobile masternodes. The network supports both traditional staking and a lottery block mechanism as part of its incentive structure.
Token and supply
DIVI tokens are used for transaction fees, staking rewards, and network participation incentives. The token has a total supply of approximately 4.78 billion DIVI with no stated maximum supply cap. Token holders can stake their holdings to earn competitive returns or integrate the token into business ecosystems through vertically integrated solutions planned in the project roadmap.
Team and history
Divi launched on November 14, 2017. The project released an updated roadmap in September 2022 following completion of its original whitepaper objectives.
