What is Dolomite?
Protocol and launch
Dolomite combines a money market with exchange infrastructure for borrowing and leveraged positions. Deposited assets can retain supported staking or yield functions while serving as collateral. Loans remain subject to collateral requirements and liquidation rules. The core contracts are immutable, while selected parameters and supporting modules can change. DOLO launched on April 24, 2025, on Berachain and Ethereum. Additional deployments include Arbitrum, with Chainlink CCIP connecting supported token versions through a burn-and-mint system.
Governance and issuance
DOLO holders can lock tokens to obtain veDOLO voting positions represented by NFTs. Locks can last up to two years, with voting weight depending on the commitment. Governance covers matters including asset listings and protocol changes. Revenue distributions require governance activation rather than following automatically from token ownership. The initial allocation reserves 50.75% for community uses. The token model subsequently allows annual inflation initially set at 3%, with governance able to modify or burn the allocation. The protocol also distributes oDOLO options that can be paired with DOLO to obtain discounted locked positions. Longer commitments receive larger discounts, while early exits carry the applicable burn and recoupment charges.
