What is Echo Protocol?
Overview
Echo addresses fragmentation across Bitcoin liquidity by accepting multiple BTC standards and issuing a unified representation for use in decentralized applications. The protocol integrates with native BTC Layer 2 solutions including Babylon, BSquared, and Bitlayer, and supports popular BTC liquid staking tokens and wrapped variants. Users deposit BTC and interact with DeFi without relying on conventional Bitcoin staking protocols, while Proof-of-Reserve mechanisms ensure asset safety and transparency.
How it works
Echo operates as a liquid staking and aggregation infrastructure deployed on Aptos and BNB Chain. The protocol accepts various forms of Bitcoin, provides yield optimization strategies including leveraged liquid staking and lending/borrowing, and offers eMSTR for leveraged BTC positions without liquidation risk. It integrates custody solutions and CeDeFi partnerships to stabilize returns while minimizing slippage and depegging risk.
Token and supply
ECHO has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens with a total supply matching the maximum. The token is used within Echo's governance and yield optimization ecosystem.
