What is Eurite?
Bank issuer
Banking Circle issues EURI as a regulated electronic-money token. The issuer is a Luxembourg credit institution supervised by the CSSF. Its euro reserves are kept separate from the bank's own assets. Those safeguarded funds support the outstanding token supply. Reserve attestations verify the relationship between backing and issuance.
Creation and redemption
Onboarded institutions obtain EURI by depositing euros with Banking Circle. The bank mints an equivalent number of tokens. Returning EURI for redemption burns the tokens. The corresponding euros are transferred back to the institution. Supply expands and contracts with these transactions rather than following a fixed issuance cap.
Networks and payments
EURI uses the ERC-20 standard on Ethereum. It also uses the BEP-20 standard on BNB Smart Chain. Holders can transfer it between wallets on the supported network. Its purposes include euro-denominated settlement and digital-asset trading. Smart contracts can integrate EURI into financial applications. Blockchain transfers operate outside conventional banking settlement hours.
