What is Bureau of Internet Culture?
Overview
Bureau of Internet Culture collects and preserves digitally native cultural artifacts with documented creator provenance. BIC replaced the Feisty Doge NFT (NFD) token on September 19, 2026, following a fractionalized NFT from the original Doge auction conducted on Zora and issued through Fractional.art. The project enables holders to maintain exposure to these archived assets through tokenized ownership.
How it works
BIC is an ERC-20 token operating on Ethereum with 18 decimals. Holders of the previous NFD token can exchange their holdings for BIC through an escrow contract at a fixed one-to-one conversion rate, with the option to reverse the transaction and redeem BIC for NFD. The migration interface at bureauofinternetculture.art/migrate queries the escrow contract's current balance to show available supply before any transaction execution.
Token and supply
BIC has a fixed maximum supply of 100 billion tokens, matching the total supply of the predecessor NFD token. No new tokens are issued beyond this fixed amount; the supply remained unchanged through the migration process. BIC trades on Uniswap V3 against wrapped staked Ethereum (wstETH).
