What is Artificial Superintelligence Alliance?
Origins and agent infrastructure
FET originated with Fetch.ai, whose founder and CEO is Humayun Sheikh. The project develops software agents that can discover services and coordinate tasks on behalf of users or businesses. Its uAgents framework provides tools for building and communicating with those agents. Agentverse supplies an environment for developing and deploying them. The on-chain Almanac registry records agent endpoints and makes registered services discoverable. FET provides a payment asset for supported services and agent interactions.
Network and staking
The ASI network uses a Cosmos SDK ledger with proof-of-stake security. Validators maintain the chain and process transactions. Native FET pays network charges and smart-contract execution costs. Holders can delegate native tokens to validators and participate in network governance. FET also exists as an ERC-20 token, with conversion infrastructure connecting the Ethereum and native forms.
Alliance and issuance
The 2024 alliance program combined FET with conversion arrangements for SingularityNET's AGIX and Ocean Protocol's OCEAN. Fetch.ai expanded issuance to support those conversions rather than imposing the original FET supply figure on the merged ecosystem. Its May 2024 announcement set that merger-stage supply at approximately 2.63 billion tokens. CUDOS subsequently joined through a further token conversion and network integration. Current FET accounting therefore includes merger allocations alongside the original project's tokens.
