What is Geode Chain?
Consensus and execution
Geode uses BABE for block production. GRANDPA provides finality separately from block production. Validators maintain the chain, while nominators support selected validators with stake. The runtime is built from Substrate components. Runtime upgrades can be implemented without a chain fork. Application contracts use the ink! language.
Coin and application functions
GEODE pays network transaction fees. Staking links the coin to validator selection and participation rewards. Users can submit proposals and vote on network decisions. Governance includes treasury spending and code upgrades. The application design covers intellectual-property registration and endorsements. Registrations record a timestamp and content hash onchain. Additional social, messaging and marketplace functions appear in the ecosystem's development plans. These application records are separate from the underlying consensus process.
