What is Geodnet?
Positioning infrastructure
GEODNET combines distributed physical infrastructure with real-time kinematic positioning. Operators install fixed GNSS reference stations and stream satellite observations to the network. These observations help correct atmospheric, orbital and clock-related errors. Nearby compatible receivers can use the resulting corrections for centimeter-level positioning. Applications include surveying, agriculture, robotics and drone operations.
Contributors and rewards
Station operators earn GEOD for providing qualifying data. Rewards depend on factors including uptime, signal quality and the applicable station rules. Mining here refers to operating positioning infrastructure rather than solving proof-of-work hashes. Base rewards halve annually on June 30. The published allocation totals one billion GEOD, with separate release schedules for mining, team, investor and ecosystem reserves. Mining rewards are distributed daily.
Token use and networks
GEOD supports RTK data-service payments and project governance. Revenue from data sales funds token repurchases and burns. The token uses ERC-20 infrastructure on Polygon and is also supported on IoTeX. A Solana SPL representation was introduced through the Wormhole Native Token Transfer framework. Cross-network transfers follow the corresponding bridge controls rather than creating an independent additional token allocation.
