What is gm?
API marketplace
gm connects AI application users with operators supplying model API capacity. Developers can connect existing OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini-compatible software to its gateway. Miners provide upstream provider access rather than training a new foundation model as their primary task. Competing operators offer capacity and pricing through the service. The network's mainnet identifier is Bittensor Subnet 28.
Execution and privacy
The gateway runs inside an Intel TDX trusted execution environment. Hardware attestation allows users to check measurements of the gateway software. Requests to proprietary models are still executed by the external model provider under that provider's API terms. The gateway protects the routing stage rather than moving those proprietary models into its own enclave. A separate confidential model offering runs open-weight models within trusted execution environments.
Subnet asset
SN28 is the subnet's alpha asset and is separate from TAO. Bittensor's subnet pools connect TAO staking with exposure to the relevant alpha token. Converting between them depends on pool pricing, so the exchange is not a fixed one-to-one redemption. Bittensor's emissions framework allocates rewards to subnet participants. These token incentives are separate from the API usage charges paid by customers.
