What is GoldZip Gold?
Overview
GoldZip Gold is operated by GoldZip Digital Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Hong Kong Gold Exchange (HKGX), Hong Kong's sole spot gold and silver exchange. The project tokenizes physical precious metals on the blockchain, enabling ownership and redemption of backing gold reserves. Each token corresponds to one gram of stored fine gold in HKGX-approved vaults, bridging traditional commodity markets with blockchain infrastructure.
How it works
XGZ tokens are deployed on the Ethereum network. Token holders can redeem GoldZip Eligible Gold Bars by complying with applicable anti-money laundering requirements. Physical gold backing the tokens is stored in recognized vaults approved by the Hong Kong Gold Exchange.
Token and supply
XGZ operates as a tokenized commodity with a total supply of approximately 39 thousand tokens. No maximum supply cap is documented. The token's primary function is to represent ownership claims on physical gold, redeemable through the issuing entity.
Team and history
GoldZip officially launched on January 1, 2025. The project is part of the Hong Kong Gold Exchange ecosystem, which was established through corporatized restructuring of the Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, an institution with over 115 years of history.
