What is HASHCATS?
Overview
HASHCATS is an on-chain NFT collection built on Robinhood Chain where new cats are mined rather than purchased. Miners solve a hash puzzle—combining a previous cat's hash, their address, a block anchor and a nonce—until the result meets the network target, currently set at 35 bits. Cat traits, images, palettes and metadata are stored and rendered entirely in contract storage without reliance on external services. The project operates as a proof-of-work system where token creation is intrinsically tied to NFT destruction.
How it works
The protocol runs on Robinhood Chain with mining difficulty retargeted every 8 mints. HASH is traded against ETH in a Uniswap v4 pool featuring a custom hook that captures 5% of swaps, mint shares, secondary-sale royalties and burned-cat proceeds. These revenues fund automatic buyback and burn operations, constrained to spend at most 0.04 ETH per L1 block and avoid price slippage exceeding 1%. Additional utility includes burning HASH to mint named and colored cats with status tiers, and staking cats to earn HASH rewards.
Token and supply
HASH has no maximum supply cap. Total supply stands at approximately 2.09 million tokens, with a genesis allocation of 1 million issued at deployment. All subsequent token creation occurs exclusively through cat burning, which returns up to 1,000 HASH per cat on a decaying schedule as epochs progress. The token is destroyed through continuous buyback-and-burn hooks funded by protocol revenue, making each HASH in circulation a record of prior proof-of-work and one NFT removed from circulation.
