What is Hegic?

Options trading

Hegic's current application runs on Arbitrum. It offers strategies based on BTC and ETH prices. Calls, puts and spreads produce different payoff structures. Traders purchase options with a defined premium. The application lists short-expiry 0DTE products and longer strategies lasting up to 90 days. Its displayed classic strategies require manual exercise before expiration. The options are designed without position liquidation.

Protocol token

Hegic initially developed its token programme on Ethereum. Its original utility design connected HEGIC staking with protocol fee participation. Early programmes also distributed HEGIC incentives to option buyers and liquidity providers. These were separate from the assets used to purchase or underwrite options. The current platform retains a staking and coverage section alongside its trading interface. Pool-based underwriting supplies the counterparties for traders' option positions. The option's premium and payoff follow its strategy terms rather than the price of HEGIC.
