What is Huobi?
Earlier exchange functions
Huobi’s original HT programme linked token balances with exchange services. Historical uses included discounted trading fees through VIP arrangements. The programme also supported participation in selected listing processes. Other published applications concerned security deposits and account privileges. Exchange-funded repurchases and burns reduced the original circulating allocation over time. These functions belonged to the earlier Huobi operating model.
Transition to HTX
The exchange adopted the HTX brand in September 2023. In January 2024 it announced a programme for converting HT into HTX. Fee-offset and other specified HT privileges were retired during the transition. Equivalent platform programmes moved toward the new token. The announced conversion window ran from January 2024 to January 2025. That scheduled service should not be presented as permanently available. HT and HTX are distinct assets. Holding legacy HT does not establish access to all current HTX benefits. Historical repurchase figures also do not constitute a present redemption promise. The token’s description therefore depends on the exchange programme’s changing rules.
