What is Hylo USD?
Collateral structure
Hylo splits each collateral pool into two economic components. An xAsset provides leveraged exposure to that pool’s collateral. A virtual stablecoin represents its dollar-denominated stable component. hyUSD draws backing from the combined virtual stablecoin value across the pools. Its collateral structure therefore extends beyond a single SOL staking basket. The xAsset side absorbs collateral price movements within the system’s design. This mechanism aims to protect the stable side’s dollar value.
Stablecoin and earn receipt
hyUSD can be held or used in compatible Solana applications. Lending markets and liquidity pools can integrate the token. Holding hyUSD is distinct from depositing it into Hylo’s Earn Pool. Earn Pool deposits produce eHYUSD. That receipt represents a proportional claim on the pool. Staking rewards and borrowing payments are harvested and compounded into it. The increasing receipt value is the yield mechanism. hyUSD itself should not be described as the same asset as this earning receipt.
