What is iExec RLC?
Computing marketplace
Application providers publish execution services through iExec. Data providers can offer access to encrypted datasets. Worker pools supply the machines that execute tasks. Trusted execution environments protect sensitive computations. Provider orders specify prices and the conditions of each service. A task's RLC payment is distributed among the application, data and computing providers.
Token and task settlement
RLC is an Ethereum-issued token with a maximum supply of approximately eighty-seven million. Its initial fundraising took place in April 2017. The existing token allocation has already been minted. Task execution requires RLC to be locked in the protocol. The task position receives the corresponding sRLC representation. After execution, unused RLC can be recovered. iExec's tools also support developers working on confidential DeFi and tokenized-asset applications. Its 2026 Confidential Token initiative extends private execution to financial workflows.
