What is Illuvium?
Token and governance
The issuer's terms describe ILV as an Ethereum ERC-20 token. They specify a ten-million maximum supply. Illuvium governance includes community proposals and council elections. Staked participation determines voting under the relevant election rules. ILV can be transferred between supported wallets. It does not itself represent ownership of every collectible or parcel offered within the games. Those assets follow their own contracts and game rules.
The move to Staking V3
Illuvium's newer staking system operates on Base. A LayerZero-powered bridge connects supported ILV representations. V3 accepts ILV and Aerodrome ILV/ETH liquidity positions. Its reward design combines protocol-revenue distributions with Shards. Shards are tracked offchain as loyalty points. They support seasonal leaderboards and rewards. They are not newly minted ILV. Revenue distributions depend on the protocol's receipts. Earlier V2 staking positions have a separate transition process.
