What is Indigo Protocol?
Overview
Indigo Protocol allows participants to gain price exposure to various assets through synthetic derivatives called iAssets. Users can create these synthetic assets using stablecoins or ADA as collateral, gaining profit potential from asset price movements without direct ownership. The protocol introduced iUSD, a native stablecoin for the Cardano ecosystem.
How it works
The protocol operates on Cardano as an autonomous synthetics platform where iAssets replicate the price behavior of real-world assets. This blockchain-based approach provides transparency, efficiency, and low barriers to entry compared to traditional markets.
Token and supply
INDY is the governance token used for voting within the Indigo DAO. The token has a maximum supply of 35 million with 6-decimal precision, distributed to protocol users, stakers, and liquidity providers over four years. There was no community pre-sale.
