What is InfiniFi USD?
Deposits and strategy
Depositors receive iUSD when they contribute USDC. The receipt can be redeemed through the protocol's withdrawal mechanisms. Holding unstaked iUSD does not itself generate interest. infiniFi applies a fractional-reserve model to its deployment of capital. Its strategy framework uses DeFi venues including Aave, Ethena and Pendle.
Staked and locked positions
Staking iUSD produces siUSD, which receives liquid-strategy returns. siUSD can be converted back into iUSD without a lock period. Locking iUSD instead produces a liUSD position tied to its lock duration. Locked positions receive exposure to illiquid-strategy returns. They also provide participation in governance actions. The portfolio combines assets with different withdrawal timelines. Available liquid reserves support withdrawals while other capital remains deployed. Longer-duration positions allow the protocol to allocate more capital to illiquid opportunities. Its loss-allocation framework includes a junior tranche. Converting a staking receipt to iUSD remains a separate operation from withdrawing USDC.
