What is KernelDAO?
Products and current status
KernelDAO brought several restaking and yield products under one token ecosystem. Kelp provides rsETH, a liquid representation of restaked ETH positions. Gain operates vault products for ETH and other liquid assets. The separate Kernel product originally focused on BNB Chain restaking. That product entered wind-down on March 7, 2026, with new deposits paused. Its interface was retired in June 2026, leaving withdrawals available directly through the StakeManager contract. Operational support for those claims is scheduled through June 8, 2029. Kelp and Gain were explicitly excluded from the Kernel product retirement.
KERNEL allocation
KERNEL has a total supply of one billion tokens. The published model allocates 60% to community uses and ecosystem partners, with 20% each for private investors and the team. Community distribution includes airdrops and future incentives. The token is designed to coordinate governance and participation across the ecosystem. Staking-related benefits depend on the specific product and its active rules. Planned insurance functions should not be treated as automatic protection of deposits. Token ownership remains separate from an rsETH balance or a Gain vault position.
